Heat On The Highstreet: H&M Weekly Edit

H&M Weekly Edit
Hi Internet!

Thought I'd do a quick Sunday night blog post, as I was browsing the H&M website and had the urge to make a set on Polyvore.

H&M have teamed up with Ashley Benson (from Pretty Little Liars & Spring Breakers) to get her styling some of their summer collection. I had my eye on some of the items anyway, but this makes me want them even more! I would wear this outfit for any occasion, work, casual, whatever! Any excuse to wear some eye catching jeans and comfy t-shirt.

All of these pieces are avaliable on the H&M website, each of the pictures below take you to my polyvore account, which I've linked to the H&M website. Other Heat on the Highstreet installments have included H&M and New Look, starting to think I should branch out a bit...

 Have a great week!

Heat on the High Street: H&M

Heat on the High Street: H&M
Hi Internet!

In following to my most recent Heat On The High Street featuring New Look, I have decided to choose H&M as my next victim! I went in the other day looking for a black skater skirt, but got a bit distracted.

In my opinion, H&M are really great at doing everything, from simple pieces to lace detail and graphic designs.  As well as quality, I'm always out for a bargin (like any other girl!). I find shops like Miss Selfridge and River Island to be very fashion-forward, but not great on my purse.

So in this quick post I scoured H&M to find my pick of the dresses ranging from £7.99 to £25, all different lengths and colours, that can be dressed up differently for summer with their amazing variety of shoes. All the images below link to Polyvore, and then H&M's website where you can find all of the items!

Happy Tuesday!

Heat On The High Street: New Look

Heat On The High Street: New Look

Hi Internet!

Today I have a summer fashion set which I made on Polyvore. I've had Polyvore for a couple of years, but never really used it, due to most of the clothes already on the site being ridiculously expensive. Like most people, I don't like finding things I like that realistically I can't buy. This set features things that I've gone out and bought (to be featured in an upcoming A Week In Outfits post) from New Look

I went into the New Look initially looking for jersey tops to go with everything, but got a bit distracted by all the colour in the shop at the moment! I don't usually find anything I like in New Look, but their summer collection is really my style! Lots of bright neon colours to pair with florals and other detailed pieces. I feel the detail and the fabric have the ability to make things look more expensive that they actually are - the two clothing pieces in this set do just that.

I only bought the clothing, but have similar accessories to those featured in the set - all from New Look!

CLOTHING

Blue Slub Pocket T-Shirt

Teens White Floral Print Skort
Floral Skort
£15
From the kids section! Their sizes are rather big for childrens, I got a 13-14 years.
In the adult section they do 2 skorts with almost the same floral pattern- just with different colours.

ACCESSORIES

Coral Leather Strappy Cork Wedges
Strappy Wedges
£30

Stone Zip Side Bowler Bag
Beige Bowler Bag
£25

JEWELLERY
Pink and Gold Diamond Bangles
Bangles
£4.99

Gold Double Number Sports Watch
Watch
£20

Beauty wise, in the set I featured Barry M.'s Gelly nail polish in Blue Grape, although most of the Gelly shades would go with this outfit because they are all so bright!

Also featured is one of the Maybelline Colour Whispers in Coral Ambition. The Colour Whispers haven't been released in the UK yet, but I know the Maybelline lipsticks come in loads of shades, of failing that, the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks have great formulas.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog, hopefully this colourful outfit brightened up your day!
What high street shop should I check out next?? Thinking of doing this as a weekly thing!

OOTD: An Autumn Sunday

AN AUTUMN SUNDAY

Hi Internet!

Last weekend I ventured home from uni firstly, because we had a reading week, and secondly, my friend had staff tickets to the Beaulieu Motor Museum fireworks.

Now that we're getting into cooler temperatures, spending time outside is becoming a little more daunting, having to layer up to just stay comfortable. However, my parents had some apple picking to do, and being helpful people, my boyfriend and I thought we'd help (good photo opportunity!).

Seeing as all my clothes are at the uni house, and I didn't want to bring too many back just for a couple of days, I made the most with what I had in my wardrobe, combining bits that I wear all the time, and pieces that live folded up in my draws (pretty much forcing myself to be a bit creative with what I had), and here's how that turned out!

My outfit for that day...

Khaki Jacket: Fat Face £30
Reduced to half price
2 years old
Blue Hoodie: Top Shop £18
Cheaper alternatives available in Primark
Grey Top w/ Lace Pocket: Hollister £4
Bought off eBay
Floral Skirt: Gina Tricot 50kr
(around £4)
Wellie Boots: Viking Brand 800kr
(around £70)

I wouldn't usually wear the skirt, but the plain colours of the clothes I'd brought back from uni seemed to have toned it down. Plus I've had the skirt for years and haven't got much wear out of it so I felt guilty for neglecting it and leaving it in my wardrobe.

My jacket came from Fat Face a couple of years ago on a bit of a whim purchase, seeing as it was a bargain! I know that Fat Face is aimed at all ages, but can be considered to be an older persons shop at times. This may be because of the prices (definitely not Primark or New Look prices), but you pay for the quality, and not the name plastered all over the pieces like some other brands. If investing in a pair of jeans or coat, I will check out Fat Face for their selection, however if I'm just looking for a strappy top, £2.50 from Primark will do me just fine.

As for the wellies, I have only worn these when walking in the forest or at festivals (another neglected item), but they do serve their purpose as you can see by the amount of mud they have collected. Boots could be worn instead of wellies for a more pulled-together look, however these were definitely a comfort-over-style item that day!

A little bit of texture!

Hope this was inspiring for a bit of Autumn fashion,

Happy Sunday everyone!
